Alongside the professional tuition, private driving with family members is also an incredibly important part of your child’s driving development; misinformation or miscommunication of the “do’s” and “dont’s” relative to modern driving standards is probably going to provide you with a challenge, especially if you haven’t taken your test within the last 10 years.
TLC therefore offer a parent or carer ‘drive-along’ service for you to see what happens within the in-car training syllabus and how this can be replicated in your private driving time with the student.

Learner Drivers
New/Novice Driver Training
New and novice drivers can expect dedicated tuition with lessons being adapted to ensure continual progress is being made; this is a surefire way of increasing the students confidence and overall ability in a measured and consistent manner.
Our goal is to create a safe and comfortable learning experience, enabling the students to perfect the skills they need to pass the modern practical driving test.
As part of the course, your instructor will also train the students to successfully complete additional manoeuvres no-longer found in the modern practical driving test; manoeuvres such as the Turn in the Road (the old 3 point turn) and reversing around a corner, as we believe these manoeuvres are still both relevant and useful to the candidate.
All our learner drivers are important to us and with the expertise of our instructor, we can adapt the lessons to suit each individual so the student feels comfortable and safe at all times. You’ll always be assured a first-class, honest service specifically tailored to develop and hone the students skills at an achievable pace in a friendly atmosphere.
Our 1, 1.5 and 2 hour lessons provide our students with all the skills necessary for passing their test.
Refresher Lessons
Whether you have been driving for many years or have taken a break from driving for whatever reason, our bespoke refresher lessons can give you the confidence boost to become a safer driver and iron out any ‘bad’ habits.
With the ever changing amount of vehicles, hazards and distractions whilst driving these days, maintaining good judgment isn’t always easy. Even the most ‘experienced’ drivers can make errors resulting in a noticeable dip in their levels of ability and confidence.
No matter what your concerns are, please talk to us and we’ll identify a suitable refresher plan to help you feel safe and confident behind the wheel again.
These lessons are available in 1, 1.5 and 2 hour slots.
Motorway Lessons
Motorway driving is an essential skill for any UK motorist. Although this may seem scary, especially if you have only recently passed your test, don’t worry, our TLC instructor is here to help support you into the faster dual carriageway and motorway driving skills required. Even if you passed your test years ago, not everyone is confident on the motorway. Some motorists may go years without having to drive on one; some actively avoid them..!.
These lessons are a 2 hour slot duration.

Our pricing
Monday – Friday
£40/hr
Advance and save: 10 x 1hr lessons, 5 x 2hr lessons or a combination of the two:

Saturday
£43/hr
Advance bookings only: 10 x 1hr lessons:

Motorway
£80 in own car
£100 in driving school car
These lessons are based on a 2 hour duration.
Test Pricing: £120.00 (school car)/£100.00 (own car)*
This consists of a 1hr warm-up/student settling lesson, hire of the car for the test, the test itself, the examiner debrief and the journey home.
*price excludes the DVSA test booking fee
All test fees are due 7 days before your test.
Terms and Conditions/Cancellation Policy
A payment for all lessons is due prior to the lesson starting. This is payable either via by bank transfer, or cash in the car. *please note your first lesson payment is due 7 days prior to the date of your first lesson.
A licence check will be carried our prior to your first lesson; we will send you a link to generate a check code. You must have a valid provisional/full licence with the correct, current address.
Cancellations:
Should you need to reschedule or cancel your lesson, 48 hours notice is required otherwise the lesson fee may be payable in full. This includes both pay-as-you-drive and prepaid lesson blocks. We will always try to re-allocate the cancelled slot; if this is possible, there will be no penalty for the missed lesson.
